In 2023, BI Norwegian Business School celebrated its 80th anniversary. To reflect on its long journey, we organized an anniversary event with the goal of "celebrating the past by embracing the future" — specifically highlighting past achievements and showcasing the people who have contributed to their historical success.
The anniversary kicked off with an opening ceremony outside the Finn Øien statue, featuring a flag-raising, fanfare, and an opening speech by rector Karen Spens. This was followed by two fully booked special editions of Lederens Verktøykasse by Professor Bård Kuvaas and Associate Professor Nina Vogt. Inside the main hall, participants could visit the “Experience Zone,” an exhibit with live actors telling the key events of BI’s rich 80-year history.
On the top floor, we organized a business seminar where top executives were invited to discuss how to navigate challenging times, with a focus on leadership, security, and economics.
The anniversary celebration took place in the Finn Øien lecture hall, with highlights including panel debates, keynotes, musical entertainment, and awards ceremonies. The grand celebration culminated in a spectacular party with food, entertainment, and networking at BI's flagship building.
